London - 2015

Published on Monday, July 27th, 2015

UK Trip 2015 I just wanted to sort of "journal" some of the highlights and events from my recent trip with my mom to the United Kingdom Da duh duh duh ... da duh duh duh duh duh! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHNfvJc99YY]. I will do this in three posts in chronological order of my trip. First we stopped in London, where I had been twice. Then, we ventured into new territory for me, the Lakes District in Northwest England, and Edinburgh, Scotland. I hope you will enjoy some of the pictures tha...

Wrapping it Up in Buenos Aires - March 20-23

Published on Friday, April 12th, 2013

March 20 Terry and I arrived in Buenos Aires late Wednesday morning. Since we still weren't that well situated or prepared with any plans, we decided to back-pack our way to our hostel, Mansion Junin. The Hostel was an old European style building with several floors. First we walked through a crowded market (which we were later told was dangerous) and bought a street choripan. I would risk any danger for the high quality choripan I ate there. Then we crossed the famous Avenida 9 de Julio. This i...

It's aight, Puerto Madryn - March 18-19

Published on Friday, April 12th, 2013

March 18 We got to Puerto Madryn at about seven in the morning and headed over to Hostel Les Tounens, operated by a French Guy named Victor. Tourist Town Bariloche - March 12 to March 17

Published on Friday, April 12th, 2013

March 12 It was tough to leave the Northwest (probably more for me than for Terry) after having had such nice visits. But by about noon on Thursday we had arrived for a few hours in Cordoba after the worst bus ride of our trip. On the overnight bus, a tire blew out and a window shattered. So the ride was pretty cold and we didn't get much sleep. In Cordoba we had just enough time to grab breakfast (more facturas), pick up some cash from a money order, and get lunch. We found a late afternoon bu...

Visiting Old Friends - Jujuy and Tucumán March 9-11

Published on Friday, March 15th, 2013

March 9 We survived the heat of San Pedro for the night and got dressed and ready to go meet up with Sebastian. Sebastian is a young man that used to spend lots of time with the missionaries. I didn't actually serve as a missionary in the branch he attends (I was in Rama Belgrano and not Rama San Pedro), but for some reason we have kept in touch all these years later. He ended up serving as a missionary in the Asunción mission where he met my little brother once. We headed over to his house, st...
